Mrs Catherine Hulance
Mrs. Hulance has had the pleasure of being part of the school community at The Bishops' for the past 20 years, both as a teacher and a proud parent. Having had her own children attend the school, she has a deep understanding and appreciation for the values that make it such a special place. Throughout her career, Mrs. Hulance has taught across all age groups within Key Stage 1 and Early Years, including both Nursery and Reception classes. As the Subject Lead for History and Music, she brings a broad and creative perspective to the Early Years curriculum, enriching the children’s learning experiences in a fun and engaging way. She firmly believes that well-planned play is one of the most powerful tools for learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage and works to create an environment where children feel confident expressing their ideas and exploring their interests. Passionate about outdoor learning, she provides opportunities for the children to explore nature and the world around them, believing that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Above all, Mrs. Hulance’s focus is on building strong, nurturing relationships with each child. She understands that children thrive when they feel secure, supported, and empowered in their learning environment.

Having grown up on a farm in Newquay, she brings a love for nature and the outdoors to her role, which perfectly complements our hands-on approach to learning. In addition to her passion for supporting young children, Mrs. Orchard has an interest in musical theatre, adding a creative flair to our classroom and helping to inspire the children’s confidence and self-expression.
